“Journeys Into Enlightenment” podcast host Janet Barrett invited me to discuss The Love and Kindness Initiative on her show.  We have similar approaches to hosting.  We choose conversation over interview.  We choose heartful content over marketing.  We choose spontaneity over scripts.  

Was it fun to spend an hour someone with whom I’m on the same podcast page?  You bet it was!  I hope you will listen, and I hope you will agree!

Just as a heads up, if you’re used to hearing a kinder, gentler, more peaceful Sheryl on the videos posted on the YouTube channel (Transforming Through Love Love And Kindness), I come across very differently on “Journeys Into Enlightenment.”  There’s a good reason for this: I wore earbuds for the first time while doing a podcast. 

I’m extremely uncomfortable wearing earbuds, but wearing earbuds made for better audio quality.  Boyd Martin, the show’s engineer, is a good guy and he knows what he’s doing.  I went along with what he wanted.  I was right to follow his recommendation.  I was wrong to buy bargain earbuds.  I couldn’t hear my own voice while I was speaking, so I spoke what I felt was way too loudly.  Please forgive me.  If you’re hosting your own podcast or if you’re guesting on someone’s podcast, please make sure you start by buying a set of good earbuds.

Janet is a wonderful host.  She’s very much in the moment, and she really cares about doing the best possible job.  I knew this was going to be fun when she asked me to send her quotes that inspire me.  She also asked me for my favorite type of music so that Boyd, who is a world-class musician AND a world-class engineer, could compose accompanying music in my favorite style.  Now that’s a heartful host!
